What is the design life of a Framework building?

Framework buildings are designed as permanent structures. Therefore, the design life is typically 60 years or greater. Of course, as with the weakest components of any building, its envelope is the component with the shortest lifespan. However, these are free to architectural choice, so you remain in control of the design performance – the same as any other traditional specification process.

Can the system be used to create temporary buildings?

Yes, although standards employed are the same as for permanent buildings. The system is able to be simply dismantled and relocated as an added benefit.

Are Framework buildings robust?

Yes, totally robust. Floors and walls are constructed to exacting standards to minimise noise transfer, vibration, impact and deflection. Framework has even had its unique OSC system used in environments such as Antarctica!

Are Framework buildings sustainable?

This is our most important feature. At Framework, our complete ethos is focused around sustainable development and environmental sensitivity. As such, we have benchmark values that our buildings will not compromise on. Where possible our buildings engage natural materials from sustainable sources involving the lowest possible embodied energy.

Can I use the system on challenging sites or difficult terrain?

Yes, Framework has a variety of techniques to deal with sloping, made ground or contaminated sites. We are also able to engineer the system into larger or smaller components to allow construction where access is restricted or even deemed impossible.

How much do Framework buildings cost?

Typically, our buildings cost less than traditional construction - and only slightly more than typical prefabricated solutions. The added value achieved in sustainable elements and architectural freedom is an added bonus.

Do Framework buildings comply with Building Regulations?

Yes, our buildings are subject to the same regulations as any other structure
